The Belostock offensive Only Germany and USSR are available on this map! --------------- The soviet advance into german-occupied territory is pushing back the german forces across the entire eastern front. After the Belarussian capital of Minsk was liberated by the red army on july 3 1944, leaving army group center totally annhillated, the soviet forces continue their rapid march to the west. In late july the soviet army nears the objective of the Belostock offensive, the city of Bialystok on the former eastern boarder of Poland. Fighting erupts in the area surrouding the city as soviets attempt to defeat the german forces that are fiercely defending the area to halt the soviet advance.
