August 1943 - In the heart of Vella Lavella, western Solomon Islands

US-Marines have landed in the Barakoma-territory. After they have arrived in the main camp in the middle of the island 300 Japanese are withdrawing to two small villages in the west and in the southeast. The most of the Japanese will be driven to the west of the island, betweeen Praso Bay and Mundi Mundi awaiting reinforcements. A flanking movement in the south will be used to attack the Japanese with the New Zealand 37th Battalion going around the eastern coast and 35th to the west. Later the Americans will be relieved by the 3rd New Zealand Division.

Vella Lavella will become the home base for VMF-214 (the "Black Sheep," led by Gregory Boyington).

Your mission : First conquer the camp in the middle. Then we will send you trucks with ammo and fuel for the next turn. Conquer the villages in the west and southeast and clear the whole area!
