Hello,

Is there a way to edit one of the ini files to launch RWM each time? I cannot run the MM switcher on Mac. If so what ini file and what code.

Any advise on getting this to work on Mac would be greatly helpful. I LOVE RWM!!!!

Hi Radmun,

MMS is not necessary to run RWM, and also no need to touch the .ini file, you can simply start either the .exe or the .bat inside the game folder.

Hope that helps.

P.s. did you try RWM 8.0 b3 (can be downloaded on this forum)? I'd be very interested to know if it runs on a Mac too.

Thank you for your reply.

I am using the gametop version, I have gone into the directory where sudden strike II and RWM 6.6 are installed inside the gametop folder, I have tried to execute the game.exe and the Sudden_Strike_II_.exe with the Mac Porting kit but it only opens the standard SS II, not RWM. I dont see a .bat file.

I can buy the gog version and install if that makes a difference or am I trying to execute the wrong file.

The file structure of 6.8 is a mess, save yourself the trouble of figuring out what to change, and download the latest version: RWM 8.0 - which is stand alone and has many new features compared to 6.x op top of that.

Cheers.

Thank you, I will download SSRW and then d/l RWM 8.0 Beta 3. As there is no install file how do I get it into the game, copy and replace the current files with the beta 3 files?

Cheers

It's stand alone, you don't need to get SSRW first. Just dl, unzip and play!

Cheers.

Thanks but as there is no porting kit for RWM 8.0 it won't work on Mac. There is one for SS II and SSRW but can't get the RWM mods to work with this as I cannot figure out where to place it in the game folder. The normal games work fine though. Looks like I'll have to buy a used Win 7-8 PC.

Not sure if I understand you mate, and I don't know how things work on the Mac, but you should be able to unpack it in its own folder and run it from there, no need to drop it in a previous installation folder.

What's this porting kit about? If it marshals game .dll or .exe files then it will work for RWM just as well, as it's the same game engine. Feel free to drop me a PM so we can get it sorted.

Hello,

This is what I use for SS2 and SSRW on Mac

Using Wineskin technology, Porting Kit can install games and apps compiled for Microsoft Windows® in macOS. It's free, it's simple, it's the Porting Kit. portingkit.com

I spoke to the developer of wineskin to port select games to Mac and they said the 8.0 standalone will not work, however 6.8 should work if I can understand the file structure for the GOG version of SS Gold and edit it in the Porting kit.

Can someone provide me the exact file structure for this to work? I have tried to create the sub folders in the "game" folder of "code" and then a sub folder of "release" but I am not sure what files go where. I put the game_exe.exe in there but I get an error "Can't load the profile ./sudtest.ini"
